Yet another successful year for Pachuca is coming to a close. Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping make this a smooth and successful year.  Here is a look back at a few of the highlights for the year:

  • The U12 and U15 UFC Pachuca Teams are now participating in the EDP (Eastern Developing Program), one of the top leagues in the East Coast.  Congratulations on this achievement! 
  • Congratulations to the U16s for their Maryland State Cup Championship.
  • Further Congratulations to the U16s for their Championship at the CASL Tournament! 
  • The U17 and U16 teams will be participating in two leagues: Region 1 and NPL (National Premiere League) and the new U15s will be participating in NPL
  •  So far this year, Pachuca FC USA has defeated 3 Pro Academy Teams: the U16s beat the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire teams and the U17s beat the DC United team.

]]> http://pachucausa.com/home/552632.html Pachuca UFC '96 National Cup X Regional Champions 06/29/2011 12:58 PM http://pachucausa.com/home/540121.html The Pachuca UFC ’96 won the U-14 Premier Group at the National Cup X Regionals in Richmond, VA. The tournament was held June 25-28, 2011. The team went 3-0-1 (10:6) in route to its championship. The team defeated Team America ’96 (VA) in penalty kicks in the final match. Winning the regional title qualifies the team for the National Cup X finals in Boise, Idaho on July 29 – August 1.

]]> http://pachucausa.com/home/532768.html Coach Bruno Joins Pachuca FC USA 04/05/2011 12:10 AM http://pachucausa.com/home/514565.html Coach Jim Bruno has joined the Pachuca Futbol Club USA, as the Director of Women’s programs.   Jim has been a leader in the area’s soccer community for over 30 years. In 1994, he was named the Washington Post’s All-Met Coach of the Year and in 1998 was named the National Private School Girl’s Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He was named the Maryland Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003, and 2009. He holds the Premier Diploma and Goalkeeping Diploma I from the NSCAA. Currently, Jim is the Head Coach of Girls Soccer at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Under his direction, Good Counsel has made the NSCAA’s “national top 25 teams” 11 of the last 15 years, holding down the #1 spot during the 2000 season. Jim also coaches other girl’s soccer teams in the area.

He is currently wowing Pachuca FC USA, where club president Julio Zarate knows he has something special. "The only thing I can say is, I saw Freddy Adu when he was younger; I really believe he has the makings to be better," said Zarate, who has coached club soccer in Maryland for more than 15 years. "This kid’s a natural. He has things you cannot teach." Read more here.

The tournament, played from December 27 - 30, 2010, has been rated as the #1 youth soccer tournament in the U.S. in a Soccer America survey. The U15 Dragons and the U16 Dragons both did exceptionally well against tough competition. The U15 Dragons were quarterfinalists in the Copa flight and went 2-2 (scoring 4 goals and allowing 4). The U16 Dragons won the Copa flight after going 3-1 (scoring 9 goals and allowing only 3). The U16 Dragons are now ranked 23rd in the nation by Gotsoccer.com as a result of their strong finish.

Pachuca FC, USA is an affiliate of Pachuca Club de Fútbol, a Mexican football team, which competes in the Mexican Primera Division. It is the oldest and one of the most successful clubs in Mexico. The name Pachuca probably comes from the word Pachoaca or Pachoacan, meaning "place of the rulers" or "narrow place"; it may also come from the word Patlachiuhacan, which means "place of silver and gold." The official name of the city is Pachuca de Soto in honor of Deputy Manuel Fernando Soto, who was one of founders of the state.
